I am one of CAFOD’s local reps and I have worked with volunteers and supporters in the Diocese of Hallam and the Diocese of Leeds for more than 20 years. I am privileged to be part of the Caritas International family, a movement that harnesses love and spiritual energy to tackle poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation to create a fairer world for all.
I encourage local volunteers and activists to engage in the mission entrusted to CAFOD, across the dioceses, and within parish communities. I very much enjoy working with others, helping to match their charisms with opportunities for transformation, and supporting active participation in processes that bring about a better world for all.
Hello! I’m Sharon, CAFOD’s Community Participation Coordinator (CPC) with Education focus in the diocese.
My role is to recruit and to support new and existing school volunteers, as well as fostering school engagement. I love being part of a team who tap into our young people’s natural compassion and sense of fairness, inspiring them to learn about eradicating social injustice, poverty and climate change. I truly believe that together, we can move forward with hope, walking with our children and young people, encouraging them to be the change we need to see in the world.
If you would like to find out more about our School Volunteer role, or would like a CAFOD school visit, please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you.
