Ade is a CAFOD office volunteer in the Middlesbrough Diocese.
I’m Ade from Nigeria. I’m a CAFOD office volunteer in the Middlesbrough Diocese. I got to know about the organisation when I was looking to volunteer at my local Catholic church. I got particularly interested because CAFOD's work cuts across all denominations and religions.
Volunteering for CAFOD gives me the opportunity to give back to society and to develop myself. As an office volunteer my responsibilities are data entry, handling correspondence via email and telephone, and collaborating with volunteer coordinators to support other volunteers. There is a clear career path for me to develop at CAFOD, take up more responsibilities and meet new people.
My experience is particularly well-suited to CAFOD because I come from a continent with high government injustice and negligence. This gives me the urge to keep on volunteering for CAFOD and to support them in their work to raise public awareness of the causes of poverty.
